Yves Saint Laurent Cinema Eau de Parfum was launched in 2004 by Jacques Cavallier. Cinema was inspired by the beauty and glamour of classic Hollywood and the movie stars. The fragrance can make every woman feel like a Hollywood star. This is a fragrance for confident women who know how to draw attention from everyone- umm a bit like Good Girl from Carolina Herrera Perfume.

Packaging: This fragrance is housed in an iconic rectangular bottle with all-over branding.

Fragrance Type: Oriental floral fragrance

YSL Cinema is a really gorgeous vanilla fragrance – not gourmand or edible vanilla. It is very perfume-y if that makes sense. It is very sophisticated. The fragrance has vanilla notes laced all over. It opens up with vanilla and sweet citrus which I believe is Clementine. It has a lot of florals – which I believe is from Peony and Jasmine. This just dries down to the most beautiful sweet hazy vanilla. This is a sweet floral scent with Peony being the star of the composition. White florals are in the background with some nutty-ness from Almond flower. The whole composition is fairly grounded. Musk is supporting the composition so well. It is fab for colder days specially winter time.

Performance: It is not a projection-monster but still performs very well. People close to you can smell this on you but it is not overpowering. The fragrance lasts over 8 hours on me.

Final thoughts: This creamy, rich, oriental fragrance is very elegant and sophisticated. At the same time, it is glamorous, flamboyant and divine. It is perfect for day or evening wear specially for confident women who likes to seduce. The dry down is a nice warm vanilla and such fragrances generally have good performance. It lasts considerably well – about 8-9 hours on me which is impressive for a designer fragrance. The fragrance is wearable everywhere and is a good value for money. Moreover, you can’t go wrong with Yves Saint Laurent, Can you?
