As the weather starts to get chillier and the nights are drawing in, it is time to update our seasonal decor and get our homes ready for the colder weather. In this article, you’ll find some easy ways to change some decor to welcome cozy evenings.
Autumnal Wreath: If you love those warm colors, maple leaves, red berries, pumpkins, etc, you may incorporate the changing season by hanging an autumnal wreath on your door. This is a great way to welcome seasonal changes. For a low-key look, try a wreath made from wheat.
Scented candles: Whether you want to give a spa feel to your bathroom or just want to fill your home with a warm spicy scent, scented candles always do the trick! Welcome the scent of autumn to your home and scents with muskier, woody or spiced notes offer the ideal fragrance updates for autumn.
Play with Textures: Rugs, throws, blankets, and cushions are a great way to add different textures and you may also like to add faux fur to amp it up a little bit.
Dried Flower Decor: Dried grass and flowers are another great way to bring autumnal colors to your home. I particularly enjoy rabbit tail pampas grass against crisp white vases in my home. You may also collect some bare twigs or branches during an autumn walk and put them in a vase.
Entertain in Style: We have a countryside-style solid hardwood dining table with a combination of bench and chairs. This style suits our family the best. For entertaining in autumn, I recommend a scrumptious dinner with some autumnal decor. I like linen-style plain table cloth with crisp white crockery. Linen napkins are also a great way to add that autumn touch. Remember you may keep a reed diffuser in the room for a soft, warm scent.
Bedroom Decor: Cozy up your bedrooms by adding some thicker textiles like throws and blankets in warm color palettes. I like neutral tones so adding some knitted cushions and throws against plain sheets will instantly uplift your bedroom. Just by adding some simple accessories, you may transform your bedroom from summer to autumn-ready!
Add Color to your Garden: If you’re lucky enough to have even a small garden or outdoor seating space, it is a lovely thought to add some autumn color to your garden for keeping it lively with the changing season. While my garden looks prettiest in spring and summer, I have incorporated some plants that change color with the changing season. I absolutely love to see red, orange, and some yellow in my garden, and having a variety of shades keeps them looking healthy throughout the year and they uplift my mood.
Garden Lighting: Garden lighting is another area where you may uplift the look of your home. Adding some lighting to feature some of the showstopper trees is a fab idea. If not, you may add some light features to normal branches to keep them looking interesting and cozy when the weather is crisp. We are adding some LED strings to our Jasmine climber next to our seating area on the deck.
Until next time, Ashh xo
