Sunflower Pop – Floral Street x Van Gogh Museum Collaboration

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has partnered with British fine fragrance brand – Floral Street to develop a line of scents inspired by the artist’s masterpieces. Sunflower Pop is a sun-soaked, joy-bringing, mood-uplifting fragrance that everyone needs in their life! This Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women and men is great not just for summer but all year around. It is one of those bright, happy scents that are sure to bring joy even on dull days. It brings positivity and is like sunshine in a bottle. This bright, vibrant, expressive fragrance was created by Master Perfumer Jérome Epinette and was launched in August 2021.

Yellow-tipped sunflowers from the brush of Van Gogh inspire this bright blend of fresh mandarin, bursts of sustainably sourced Calabrian bergamot, vegan honey accord, and a pop of bellini accord. Packaging – I love that this sustainable brand uses planet-positive, pulp packaging which is reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable. You can also use it to plant seeds in :).

The fragrance features responsibly sourced natural bergamot that has been growing for over six centuries in the South of Italy near the coast, in the province of Calabria. The brand’s fragrance house Robertet has a long-term partnership with a local community of growers in the region.

All Floral Street perfumes are Eau de Parfum and there is 20% of perfume Oil in each fragrance that’s why they perform well.

Notes

• Top notes: Bergamot, mandarin and passionfruit
• Heart notes: Plum blossom, bellini accord, blue orris
• Base notes: Crystallised musk, raw honey and crisp amber

Hero Ingredients – The green clean bergamot adds a burst of zest and energy to the juicy composition. It also has a sweet scent of honey without taking it from nature. So the brand created a honey accord in the lab with the nature-identical, vegan-friendly ingredient that captures the warm honey scent adding a touch of happiness to the fragrance. Another hero ingredient used in the fragrance is a Bellini accord which is a fantasy ingredient created by the Master Perfumer Jérome Epinette to add a pop of fun to the fragrance. Sweet peach combined with fizzy Prosecco provides the bellini accord in the fragrance. Fresh bergamot, sweet mandarin, juicy passionfruit, vegan honey accord, and an effervescent pop from the bellini accord – that’s how delicious and juicy sunflower pop smells!

Projection & Longevity – Sunflower Pop has a moderate projection and longevity on my skin but I like to spray it on my scarf as well which makes it last a bit more. It is such a happy scent that I do not mind to re-touch my fragrance after about 5 hours.

Final thoughts – This clean, plant-friendly fragrance is inspired by the beauty and nature of Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpiece – Sunflowers which he painted as a symbol of gratitude and optimism. This vegan perfume is for the bright, expressive, vibrant, and happy. It brings joy to the senses and is a great mood-booster! The fragrances from Floral Street are really good value for money.
