Roger & Gallet Fragrant Wellbeing Water - Ms Tantrum blog

Roger & Gallet feuille de figuier Fragrant Wellbeing Water | Spring Summer 2018

This summer Roger & Gallet added ‘Feuille de Figuier’ or Fig Leaf Fragrant wellbeing water to its fragrance family. This is the lightest and most vibrant addition to the best selling Figuier collection. Fragrant water is quite new to me as being a Fragrance Blogger I mostly come across Colognes, EDP, EDT, Extraits. Fragrant Water is mostly water which is infused with botanical or floral essences which gives an aromatic fragrance. These are very light subtly scented yet long lasting body mists. In this case this water is infused with distilled precious essences.

The fragrant wellbeing water was inspired by a stroll through a sun soaked garden, under the shadow of fig trees. Its heart is refreshing and luminous shaped by the verdant and vibrant fragrance of fig sap enveloped by Neroli/orange flower and gently enhanced or lifted by a touch of crispy galbanum and elegant woody notes.

As with all new creations, Roger & Gallet tapped into their archives to discover Fig trees were at the heart of the French Royal and Imperial Court gardens, and were cherished for their magnificent beauty, intoxicating scent and the addictive taste of the fruit, with them being perceived as eternal symbol of wealth and generosity; the ideal scent for a modern day Empress.

Roger & Gallet collaborated with leading Parisienne perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui to create this beautiful new fragrance. Bijaoui has perfectly captured the garden-fresh, crisp scent of fresh fig leaves providing an uplifting and vibrant wellbeing water perfect for a burst of refreshment on hot summer days.

Feuille de Figuier’s natural ingredients contain an energising blend and reviving mix of the following notes:

Top

Bergamot, Mandarin and Galbanum
Heart

Sweet Neroli essence
Base

Benjoin and warm Cedar with a Fig accord

Overall thoughts: If you know me, you would know I have a thing for floral and woodsy notes and this beautiful offering from Roger & Gallet has just so gripping. It is delightful, relaxing yet very uplifting spring/summer fragrant water (read body mist) that layers well with cologne from same range or can also be worn alone. This feels light and stays for hours which is quite impressive.

Feuille de Figuer Wellbeing Water 100ml – £39.50 / 30ml – £19.50 and is available at Feel Unique, Escentual, Look Fantastic.

Until next time
