Today I am sharing my experience when I met Tope Beesley #BossLady at Mahogany Naturals at her studio in Milton Keynes.
Tope is a Multi Award winning Hair Stylist and Certified Aromatherapist as well as Facialist so she understands how ingredients and essential oils affect different, skin, hair and scalp conditions. She is incredibly talented and you’ll know after reading this post and looking at my photos. I walked in with some makeup on and my skin was a bit dull and hair were lacking lustre. Infact my hair needed a lot of work but I walked out as a totally different person with a healthy glow-y skin and bouncy voluminous soft curls!
The appointment was fixed couple of months ago when the studio was getting ready. Glad it finally happened and I had such relaxing experience that I want to go there again.
The studio is located at a quiet location near Mill Farms at Beachampton, Milton Keynes which is a plus point as it is free from traffic and congestion. Clients can actually relax and forget about their hectic lives for a while. There is ample natural light in the studio and a beautiful scenic view too. She respects everyone’s preference so She is happy to provide special arrangements like putting blinds or curtains if you need extra privacy or if wear hijab. Not every company respects individual’s personal preferences, so it was good to know!
When I arrived, it felt like I am meeting an old friend after a long time. Well we have been chatting via Instagram and She is very warm hearted and friendly. She likes to spend one on one time with the clients. She offered me a welcome drink too which is so sweet of her. Anyways I am sure you’re more interested to know about Facial and Treatment 🙂
Facial
Before starting my facial, Tope asked me about my skin concerns and my skin type etc which is really important to customize facial according to skin type. I do not have major skin issues but it gets easily congested so some detox is needed from time to time. She did an Organic Facial starting with Mahogany Naturals Soothing Cleansing Oil to cleanse my face properly. This oil is a beautiful combination of natural oils (Grape Seed Oil, Olive oil, Sweet Orange Oil, Tea tree oil , Jasmine Flower Oil, Lavender,Camomile, Eucalyptus radiata oil) that breaks down dirt and sebum. She applied nearly 5 pumps of oil and massaged into my skin. She used hot wet muslin cloth to remove every bit of makeup from my face and cleansed it properly.
She then applied Detox Mineral Mask which has Bentonite clay,raw organic apple cider vinegar,organic Aloe vera, organic raw honey, organic avocado oil, vegetable glycerine, tea tree oil, camomile, ylang ylang to reveal clear and radiant skin. This mask is to purify and detox the pores,treat and repair damaged skin. After the mask dried in 15 minutes or so, she removed it with warm wet muslin cloth.
After removing mask, my skin was already feeling radiant, she applied her Manuka Face Cream which has Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) leaf extract, Light Coconut Oil, manuka honey 20+, avocado oil, Butyrosperum parkii (Organic Shea Butter) rosemary oil, Glyceryl stearate, Stearic acid, Glycerin, Collagen (Marine), Cetyl alcohol, Hippohae rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn seed oil), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A). This exquisite cream caresses the face and protects it in the most delicate way. The results are super soft and hydrated skin which were quite evident on my instastories.
This was not all. She finished the facial with her soon to be released Bronze Face and Body Glow Oil which actually looked like molten gold and bronze metal. Aah the glow it gave was AMAZING..Seriously I need Emojis here to show how fab it is. I can’t wait for the release and I feel it will be a great hit for the upcoming season.
Hair
Honestly my hair needed more work than my skin. To begin with, Tope gave me a hair treatment with Rhassoul Cocoa and Honey Deep Hair Treatment (currently out of stock but will be back again soon). This mask treatment is super luxurious and rich. This was a treat for my dry and heat-damaged hair. The ingredients list (Rhassoul,Raw honey, (Theobroma Cacao) Organic cocoa powder, Theobroma cacao Unrefined cocoa butter, ( Aloe Barbadensis) Organic aloe vera, (Olea Europaea)Extra virgin olive oil, (ulmus rubra)Slippery elm,Guar, emulsifier,essential oils) is pretty impressive. This is a perfect treatment for damage control.
My hair sucked in all moisture from the mask. Tope mixed it with Wella Conditioner but the base of treatment was her hair mask. The mask can be left 30-90 mins before washing out or can be done quickly with Steam treatment. We chose Steam treatment which helped my roots to get quick benefits too. The alternative to this mask is Brazilian Butter Damage Reverse Treatment . After washing the mask off, Tope Blow dried my hair and gave me a cut to suit my face shape. I wanted something low maintenance as I don’t visit salons regularly (#WorkandFamilyCommitments) so she kept that in mind and gave me long layers but got rid of all damaged uneven layers. She then Styled my hair with ghd hair straighteners and gave me soft curls which OMG were so amazing. My hair looked so healthy, bouncy and got so much volume.
Overall Thoughts: This is the first time in my life that my skin and hair looked so good! Trust me, I paid so much money to get ready on my marriage but my skin never looked so healthy and hair so shiny and beautiful before. If I could be a bride again, I would choose Tope Beesley for my Skin and Hair without second thoughts. She is so Talented !!!
