Laura Geller Beauty has some of the best makeup like the Gelato Swirl baked illuminators, Baked foundation and more. The newest palette Downtown Cool caught my eye because it has all my favourite shades in one compact. The palette is a part of Iconic New York Collection which was released last month in July. This collection has two palettes – Uptown Chic and Downtown Cool.
These two palettes are inspired by the beauty and essence of New York and what it means to be a true New York gal. Unlike Laura Geller’s baked eyeshadows, these are pressed shadows that are soft baked. They’re highly pigmented, smooth, and buildable.
I have always been reaching for warmer toned eyeshadows and this is the first palette which has a good mix of colors. Also, I haven’t had any palette with matte midnight blue/navy before so this is something that spoke to me at first look!
This palette is an opulent edit of chic shades inspired by the cultural hub of downtown Manhattan, whether it’s an insightful tour around a historical museum or dinner in ever-on-trend SoHo.
The mirrored compact houses twelve carefully-curated eyeshadows in a range of shades and finishes, from matte nude to shimmering gold, each with a rich, densely-pigmented formula. Easily blended, each shade sweeps across the lid for instant, stay-true colour, perfect for creating subtle daytime looks or a sultry smoky eye.
Shades: Shade names are printed at back of the eyeshadow palette which is great as I often loose plastic sheets that come with some palettes.

Texture, Pigmentation & Longevity: The eyeshadows are super soft and buttery. These blend like a dream without much effort and the longevity is great. The eyeshadows are super pigmented and you don’t need a primer with these. These eyeshadows didn’t crease either and all shades stood out well on my medium skin. The eyeshadows stay all day on my lids even without primer. Though the texture of these shadows is very soft, the fall out is not much and can easily be controlled by tapping off the excess before blending.

Overall Thoughts: I am loving how pigmented these eyeshadows are and the texture is just WOW. These blend like a dream and stay on all day long without creasing. The shade selection is fabulous and I see myself reaching for every single shade in this palette. I love that the palette has variety of textures from matte to shimmer. The palette has easily acquired a safe spot in my top 5 palettes list.
