Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum

Mon Guerlain is one of the iconic scents from the House of Guerlain. It is a tribute to today’s femininity – a strong, free and sensual femininity. Today I’m sharing my thoughts about Eau de Parfum version of Mon Guerlain Fragrance.

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous – very chic and elegant. It is the “quadrilobe” bottle which was created in 1908 and it established itself as one of Guerlain’s iconic bottles. The bottle owes its name “quadrilobe” to its stopper, which is formed from one piece to obtain a shape resembling four lobes. One century later, the bottle design was beautifully enhanced by a luxurious glass weight and a golden adornment on the neck expressing contemporary femininity and looks really beautiful.

According to Guerlain, The fresh oriental fragrance enhances exceptional raw materials: Carla Lavender from Provence, Sambac Jasmine from India, Album Sandalwood from Australia and Vanilla Tahitensis from Papua New Guinea. It expresses the quintessence of a history replete with experiences, nourished by success, expertise, and generosity, all infused with the same passion since 1828.

Performance-wise, I think longevity is really good on this one and projection is great for the first hour and later it becomes a beautiful skin scent. I top it up after a few hours of wear. I think this is perfect as sweet fragrances can be overwhelming if they project too much. This aspect separates sophisticated fragrances from cheapies. I also like to spritz a little fragrance on my hair or sometimes on hairbrush so my hair smells fab too. This fragrance is classified as Oriental Gourmand and is more of a mass-appealing fragrance. Men love sweet fragrances on women during cold weather and this one has a great effect. This is a very sophisticated oriental, powdery aromatic vanilla – sweet and beautiful fragrance. There is a very subtle hint of florals but it won’t bother those who are not into florals. The floral aspect will come through when you get to the heart of the fragrance and is a combination of rose, iris, and jasmine but it is very subtle and is mostly in the background. I also get sandalwood in the dry down which makes this fragrance very creamy. There is a little bit of tonka bean here which makes it truly appealing and sensual.

Guerlain Mon Guerlain is not a clubbing fragrance where you want to make an impression. This is more of a subtly sweet and sophisticated fragrance which is very safe and comforting even though it is very sensual and sexy. This goes very well for the cozy, intimate type of situation. The fragrance is also a good pick-me-up for date setting.
