Byredo is a young contemporary brand from Sweden that has stirred up the world of nice perfumes with its highly distinctive fragrances. The brand was founded in 2006 by Ben Gorham. Ben began to be intrigued by scent and memory after travelling to his mother’s hometown in India (also my Home Country), where he was stirred by the aromas of spices and incense. Inspired by this trip, BYREDO’s scented candles and perfumes have been developed with an understated approach, using simple composition of the highest quality raw materials.
This body lotion is a part of Gypsy Water collection by the brand. Gypsy Water is a glamorization of the Romany lifestyle, based on a fascination with the myth. The scent of fresh soil, deep forests and campfires evokes the dream of a free, colorful lifestyle close to nature.

Consistency is like a normal lotion but upon rubbing, it disappears into skin! It is so lightweight that it doesn’t feel anything. It does not leave any residue or stickiness on the skin and you will experience only soft skin with a gorgeous scent. Its like a liquid fragrance that you can slather all over your body.
There is also a slight sheen on skin which I really like. Do not expect a lot of sheen or moisture as the lotion looks very subtle on the skin. This is definitely for luxury lovers or anyone who wants to smell beautiful at all times even when they are not wearing a fragrance.

Fragrance is everything!! Seriously I wish I could slather this body lotion over my body all day, everyday. I won’t say it is a moisturizer for driest skin. It is a lovely scented lotion for normal skin and also suitable for sensitive skin. It’s more like a liquid fragrance to slather on your body and also works as a great base to increase longevity of Gypsy water parfum or cologne if you already own one. I don’t own either of them but really wanted to experience this best selling scent from Byredo so I chose to purchase this lotion to start with and I am seriously impressed with this beautifully subtle fragrant lotion. This lotion is a splurge that I’m really enjoying!
